On-Page and Off Page optimization in SEO.

Search Engine Optimization is traditionally categorized in two main areas- On Page optimization and Off Page optimization. As the name suggest, On-page optimization deals with the webpage itself, while Off-Page optimization deals with the factors else than webpage to be optimized. Both On-Page and Off-Page optimization is necessary in a website optimization.

  • On-Page Optimization: On Page optimization considers What Can be done to a Webpage to optimize it for Search Engines. It considers optimizing different page elements for better SEO. Following elements must be considered for On Page optimization-
    • Keywords- Always consider keywords optimization on priority basis. As, web crawler's will show your page in search result page if it found keywords which are relevant to the search phrase. Choose your keywords after proper selection, research on it and after testing the keywords for your webpage.

    • Alt Tags- Alt tags are used to show alternate text on Images. If your Image will be unable to load for some reason, then this text will be displayed on its place. So that users can understand what the Image is about. It provides description about the Images. Use Alt tag as below syntax-

    • H1 tags- Always try to use heading tags where necessary. Heading Tags provide good impression and also it tells the visitors and web crawlers that the text in heading is more important. Place at least 1 or 2 keywords in every Heading tag.
    • URL and File names- URL and file names must consider the search terms. URL must be relevant to the content of the webpage. It must reflect the theme and description of the webpage. User must be clear from the URL of the page that What the Page is about. So, URL structure must be appropriate and relevant to the page's content.
    • Content- It is said that, Content is King. So, one must consider good and relevant content on the webpage.If a page's content is valuable, then obviously it will reflect better PR. The Content should be Fresh, Unique, Correct, and Relevant to information. This is the main criteria of better SEO.
    • Internal Linking Strategy- Web pages must be internally linked to other web pages of the website. Some user might be interested in reading other term related articles, which help in increase your site audience and site Traffic.
    • Site Map- Site map for your website must be provided on every page. So that uses or visitors can navigate to other pages efficiently. Sitemap can be provided by using some XML file. 
  • Off-Page optimization: Off Page optimization considers page independent elements to get more traffic for the website. Off-Page optimization consider following-
    • Link Exchange with other related websites.
    • Bookmarking a webpage.
    • Social sharing of page links.
    • Feeds subscription.
