In Windows8, Power buttons are provided in Log-On screen only. So, for new users it is quite difficult to find power buttons. Further, a regular user have to perform 2-4 steps to Shut Down a system which is too irritating task. Today, i am posting about a program utility that will put a Power management icon in System Tray as shown below and by just clicking on it you can shutdown, sleep, hibernate or even restart your computer.
- Download the NPowerTray utility for Power management from below download link.
- After downloading this zip file, Open it and double click on NPowerTray.exe to install this utility.
- Now look in the notification for this utility.
- Just drag this to any desired position on task-bar's notification area.
- Now, right click on it and do what you want to do.
To perform a default option on double click, follow these steps:-
- Right click on icon, and select About...
- From the opened NPowerTray window do following-
- Check on Start with Windows Desktop to start this utility on system start-up.
- Select a default action for double click on it from the drop-down list.
- Windows7 users might need to install .Net framework v4.0 to install NPowerTray utility. You can Download .Net 4.0 here. for both x86 and x64.
That's all done.
