The page title is that page element which is displayed in the title bar of your browser window. Title is also displayed when you bookmark a webpage or a hyperlink. Title of a webpage is placed accoring to following syntax inside <head> tag-

Title of a webpage must inform the user that What the page is about. Title tag is an important aspect of Search Engine Optimization of a website. In a good website, every page must have a unique and relevant Page Title. In the Title tag, your keywords must be present. For Google, it is most important that your webpage must have relevant Title containing at-least 2 keywords that are relevant to the webpage's content. Because, Google considers Title relevancy as a main aspect in displaying Search Results on SERP. So, It is most important to Optimize at-lease the web page's title.
Advantage of using Title tag:
- Higher Page Rank: If your web page's title is optimized and relevant to your content, then your page is displayed at the top of Search Results, which in turn, increase your website's overall ranking.
- Easier Comparison: It becomes easier to distinguish similar pages in a website or similar pages from different websites. And, most relevant page is served to user by search results page.
- Increase Click through rate: A well optimized and keywords containing Title can increase your site's click through rate and hence increase in your site's traffic. When your page's title matches the text searched by users, then your site link will be highlighted and users will obviously click on that link and hence increase site's Traffic and Click Through rate.
- Missing title or Improper or Ir-relevant tile tag may decrease your page's ranking and also your site's traffic. Which is a great loss to your site's statistics.
- Every Page's title must be relevant and targeted to the Keywords that users might search to reach that service or content.
- Find most Important Keywords and place them in your site's home Page. It will improve your site's Traffic and rankings.
- If you want to place your Company name or Organization name in Page's Title, then place iit after Keywords. Like- <title>Computer Tips, SEO Tutorials - LearnByTips Blog. </title>
- Title Tag must be the First element in the <head> section.
- Try to use your Primary Keyword in every page's title and secondary Keywords in corresponding pages.
- Title should not be more than 55 Characters. It should be 5 to 8 words long.
