In Windows8, Some power options are not enabled by default. This includes the popular Hibernation system state, sleep state, Lock state. Today I'll explains how to enable those missing power options again in Windows8.
Steps to follow:
- The Control Panel needs to be opened in order to enable hidden power options.
- Click on Control Panel in the Metro Start screen.
- Navigate to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\System Settings.
- Now scroll down and find Shutdown Settings.
- Here check on Sleep, Hibernate, Lock.
- You can also check on fast start-up to enable quick windows start up during log on.
- Click Save Changes to enable hibernate options and more.
- By default the new “Show Hibernate” option that is not enabled. Click in the box to enable it.
- The Metro power button is now listing Hibernate next to the other options.
- Reach the power button by moving your mouse cursor to the upper right side of the screen and selecting Settings from the options there.
- Now click on Power to get different power options.
